Employees at the Bagel Cafe of Stony Brook say a brazen burglary happened Sunday night.
In surveillance video shared with News 12, a person is seen repeatedly kicking the glass front door, which eventually gives way.
The person is seen on the video crawling in through the bottom of the broken glass door, heading toward the counter, going behind it and taking handfuls of cash from the register, while an alarm is blaring.
The video shows the person leave the cafe the same way they got in - crawling out through the bottom of the shattered glass front door.
Suffolk police tell News 12 in a statement, "Sixth Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which a man broke a glass door at Bagel Café of Stony Brook, located at 2310 Nesconset Highway, Stony Brook, on January 5 at approximately 9:25 p.m. and stole cash from a register."
