Officers from local, state and federal agencies participated in an emergency terror safety drill on the Long Island Sound Thursday.
The drill was part of a monthly Nassau County STARCOM anti-terror taskforce meeting and included Nassau and Suffolk county police, New York and Connecticut state police, the Coast Guard, FBI and NYPD. The drill simulated a 911 call from a person who witnessed shoulder-launched missiles being loaded onto a boat in the Long Island Sound.
State Senator Michael Balboni (R-East Williston) says drills are important, but what Long Island really needs is more terror funding from the U.S. government.
