A girl from Elmont will be receiving a lifesaving surgery from Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.
In order to get 11-year-old Grace Goldblum back and forth to the hospital, volunteers like Robert Di Carlo and her grandfather John Hassall will step up.
The two are part of the Road Runners - a group that has driven millions of miles to bring children in need to Shriners hospitals.
They have made more than 100 trips. In some cases, the Road Runners pay for gas and tolls. If the parents can't afford it, Shriners even takes care of the bill.
