An Elmont couple accused of dealing drugs in the presence of their 3-year-old pleaded not guilty at their arraignment Thursday.
Eric Boesenberg is facing felony charges of selling and possessing heroin along with his girlfriend Giovanna Panza, who is facing similar charges for crack-cocaine.
Police say they would often sell drugs at their home on Terrace Avenue and on Cedar Street in Valley Stream. On two occasions, authorities say Boesenberg made sales with his 3-year-old son in his arms. Major case squad detectives say he was also observed selling heroin on Cedar Street on four separate occasions.
Both suspects were arrested Wednesday. The judge held Panza on $75,000 bond and Boesenberg on $160,000 cash bail.
The toddler is now in the custody of family. An order of protection was filed against Boesenberg and Panza.
The assistant district attorney says Boesenberg has 11 prior arrests while Panza has two prior drug charges. If convicted, Boesenberg could face a maximum of 25 years in prison.
