A gas leak forced a Massapequa elementary school to evacuate Friday morning.
School officials say the National Grid was working near Fairfield Elementary and struck a gas line.
The district moved students to Massapequa High School as a precaution.
News 12 Long Island is told that parents in the district got an alert from the school saying that it has been fixed. Students were brought back to the elementary school.
