Brook Leighton is a full-time working mother of three boys in Massapequa. She is director of development and marketing for PALS, a local non-profit.
She holds a law degree from Fordham University and a Bachelors degree in English from Princeton University.
Brook is a disability rights activist with a passion for inclusive education. She is a Volunteer Advocacy Ambassador for Autism Speaks and a Partner for Progress, which is a leader in a disability policy-making program through Cornell University.
Brook is an active PTA and SEPTA volunteer in her school district. She runs a facebook page called NYS Inclusive Education Taskforce. Informally, Brook is a mentor to parents of newly diagnosed children and advises parents on special education issues.
