A racist TikTok video that circulated Eastport South Manor High School is raising concerns about how schools handle complaints of bullying.
The video shows students dancing and singing along to a song with racial slurs.
Some parents say it's part of a larger issue of bullying and harassment within the district.
Team 12 Investigates addressed the state law known as the "Dignity for All Students Act" or DASA in a recent investigate report on bullying.
It requires school districts to report incidents of bullying and cyberbullying to New York state.
A pattern of underreporting was found at hundreds of Long Island schools, including Eastport South Manor High School.
For the 2020-2021 school year, the most recent state data available, the district reported only one incident of bullying and zero cases of cyberbullying at the high school.
News 12 emailed the superintendent in September to see why more cases weren't reported.
He was one of 51 superintendents who never responded.
