Eastern Suffolk BOCES students offering pink hair extensions for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Suffolk cosmetology students are using their newfound beauty skills to help educate the public on and raise money for breast cancer detection and treatment.

Students at Eastern Suffolk BOCES in Oakdale are offering pink hair extensions as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Calling their effort the "Pink Hair for Hope" fundraiser, the students will donate their proceeds to the American Cancer Society.

The students have sold more than $700 since the start of the month.

The cosmetology students have also sold gift baskets and cookies in contribution to the cause.
