Police have identified the East Norwich woman they say was killed by her husband in an attempted murder-suicide.
They say 61-year-old Wendy Ginsberg-Ducker was stabbed to death by her husband Warren Marc Ducker Sunday. Ginsberg-Ducker was stabbed at the couple's apartment at the Heatherwood Apartment Complex.
The victim had a GoFundMe page that was raising money for her and her husband as she battled uterine cancer.
Nassau police charged Warren Marc Ducker, 67, with second-degree murder. Ducker is waiting to be arraigned in the hospital Wednesday on second-degree murder charges.
Police say Ginsberg-Ducker was in her bed and already dead with multiple stab wounds when officers arrived at the gated-community home. They say her husband was found sitting in the living room, also with multiple stab wounds.
Detective Lt. Richard Lebrun says Ducker's wounds were self-inflicted. Lebrun also says it does not appear Wendy Ginsberg-Ducker's wounds are consistent with a mercy killing.
Lebrun also confirmed it was Ducker's husband who made the 911 call to police.
Authorities say there was no indication of trouble at the couple's apartment in the past. Lebrun said he could not comment on who made the 911 call to their home.
