An East Hampton man will be behind bars for five years after admitting to killing his boss.
Marc Dern, a former assistant caddie master at The Maidstone Club, took a plea deal earlier this year after admitting to killing the club's head caddie in February 2022.
Prosecutors say Dern got into a fight with 45-year-old Kevin Somers while watching a golf tournament at Dern's home.
They say Dern, 35, placed Somers in a headlock or chokehold, causing him to lose consciousness.
Somers died from a neck compression.
Dern had faces up to 25 years in prison in convicted at trial.
