There's also a lot of history to experience at the distillery. Dean Foster comes from a long line of potato farmers, a profession that on Long Island stopped being profitable years ago. But he and his sister Marilee found a new market for their potatoes.
They opened a farm distillery, so what they grow ends up not on a dinner plate, but in a bottle.
Along with their potatoes, other things they grow are added to the mix, including cucumbers, dill, cilantro and rhubarb.
Visitors can do a tasting, or buy cocktails at the tasting room they opened last year.
