East End residents are preparing for a fight over aviation noise in East Hampton.
On Friday, the FAA told East Hampton that the town can create its own noise limit rules after Dec. 31, according to Newsday.

To get control, the town would have to surrender federal airport funding.

New rules could include curfews or limiting the number of daily flights. However, the Federal Aviation Administration promises to prevent discriminatory restrictions.

Some East End businesses already threatened to sue.
