East End businesses work to make Narcan kits more readily available amid recent overdoses

The kits have multiple doses of Naloxone in them, which could prevent death from an opioid overdose.

East End communities shaken by a string of fatal drug overdoses are adding possible lifesaving equipment to local businesses.
A collaboration between Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital and several businesses are making emergency Narcan kits available for any business that wants one.
The kits have multiple doses of Naloxone in them, which could prevent death from an opioid overdose.
Currently a handful of East End businesses have the Narcan kits and others are getting on board with the plan.
Owner of Greenport Harbor Brewing Company Richard Vandenburgh is working to get the word out to as many businesses as possible.
"It's really just providing a tool that provides a rescue line," Vandenburgh says.
