Police described the husband of an East Patchogue woman apparently beaten to death as a person of interest Tuesday.
Mona Rose Llanes' daughter discovered her mother's body Monday night. The 49-year-old was found in a bedroom in her Lake Drive home. No arrests have been made, but detectives describe Llanes' estranged husband as a person of interest. Police say officers have responded to several domestic disputes during the past several months.
Detectives say they located Llanes' husband at a local bar, a known favorite of his. When they found him, police say the man was unconscious and a hose ran from the exhaust pipe on his pickup truck to the window. Police have not yet questioned him because he is in the hospital. He is listed in stable condition.
Homicide detectives are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
