A heartbroken Mastic family said a unique goodbye to their loved one with a "drive-thru funeral."
The funeral is the first of its kind on Long Island.
Dozens of cars made their way past the casket of 83-year old Joseph Kordulak on Thursday morning at the Moloney Family Funeral home in Holbrook.
Kordulak's casket was under the car port at the funeral home, and several members of the immediate family stood nearby as mourners in cars pulled up and expressed their condolences.
Kordulak's daughter Terry said this "drive-thru funeral" made it easier for the family to grieve in this time of social distancing.
Kordulak had tested positive for COVID-19, but died of heart complications a week ago.
