Police are searching for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Valley Stream.

The incident happened Monday night near Broadway and Ash streets.

Police say the man was lying in the road after being hit by an unknown vehicle.

The man is in his forties and suffered severe head trauma.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
