Suffolk police say a man behind the wheel of a deadly crash that involved a pedestrian in Ronkonkoma early Sunday morning was intoxicated.
They say 23-year-old Wade Gagliano was driving drunk and hit a female pedestrian around 1:30 a.m. while going westbound on Johnson Avenue.
Police say he hit the woman and left her to die on the street.
Officers say they found Gagilano a short time later and arrested him.
Gagliano now faces charges of leaving the scene of an incident resulting in death and a DWI.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.
