The dream of owning a home came through for a Mastic single mom of three, thanks to a group of volunteers. Volunteers joined Habitat for Humanity Saturday and put some hard-core muscle into building a home for Pat Montalvo and her three children. Montalvo is on disability and is thrilled to have been chosen to receive a new home.
Montalvo says her kids have ADHD so moving around has been hard on them. She says, ?hopefully they will now get some stability in their life.?
Montalvo's home is scheduled to be completed in a few months. Meanwhile, she will help build her own home and other Habitat homes through the end of the year.
