The Baldwin doctor accused of selling prescriptions was released from jail on $500,000 bail today.

Dr. Anand Persaud was originally denied bail after his arrest earlier this week.

Prosecutors say Persaud made $1.4 million over two years for selling more than 5,000 prescriptions for oxycodone and other drugs. The money remains unaccounted for.

Persaud's family denies the claims against him, saying that in the end, he will be found not guilty.
