With so many job openings available across Long Island, experts have tips on how to get the position you want.
Career counselor Jon Bell says if you’re searching for your dream job but don't think you’re qualified, you should still apply.
“Don't let that stop you from applying for a position," said Bell. "You might be surprised by the job you can land without experience if you show some dedication and loyalty."
Rena Varghese, the executive director at the Nexus Center for Applied Learning and Career Development at Farmingdale State College, said getting a new job is all about networking:
“Don't hesitate to slide into someone's DMs on LinkedIn...to use your existing networks to expand your networks, to take the initiative, to go out and meet the people you admire in a field you believe you could be passionate about."
