If you think you're going to cool off at a town pool this weekend, you may need to think again, as some require reservations.
This weekend's forecast calls for temperatures into the 90s, and despite an ongoing pandemic, town pools are sure to be packed. But because of that pandemic, hitting up a pool is a totally different process in some places.
One of those is Dix Hills Pool, where residents must make a reservation, and there are other restrictions in place. Officials say they can have 70 people swimming in the pool and about 150 around the pool to follow state guidelines.
Residents can make their reservations for the entire day, but officials say if they see people leaving early, they will open up that spot. So for those who want to come down later in the day, checking their website first is a must.
Many of those who News 12 spoke to like the reservation idea, even if they wouldn't go swimming this summer themselves.
Town pool plans due to COVID-19 restrictions:

Town of Brookhaven: Reservations required

Town of Islip: Pools closed

Town of Smithtown: 50% capacity

Town of Huntington: Reservations required

Town of Oyster Bay: 50% capacity

Town of North Hempstead: 50% capacity
