Long Island volunteers who traveled to the Gulf Coast to aid Katrina victims gathered in Garden City Thursday to remember their experiences.
Nearly 200 volunteers from various agencies were present to share their stories and remember the tragedy that rocked the country four months ago.
Many recalled the devastation of the area and struggled with the pain and grief of the residents there. Others remember the hope they were able to provide to others. All agreed that there was still work to be done and that it was an experience they would never forget.
