The Diocese of Rockville Centres says it is making its “best and final offer” to survivors of childhood clergy abuse.
Survivors would receive at least $100,000, according to the new plan filed Tuesday. It is offering $200 million in total to survivors.
In January, the committee that represents all survivors had suggested a $450 million payout.
The group SNAP, Survivors Network of those Abused by Priest, released a statement saying in part that it is disappointed that the Diocese of Rockville Centre has not made any progress in what they call their final settlement offer.
