Detectives say 35-year-old Aurelia Soogea forged a transfer of ownership letter and sent it to the Nassau County clerk.
When the office notified the 78-year-old victim they received her paperwork, they say she noticed the document was forged by Soogea.
Soogea is charged with grand larceny.
