Detectives: Bellmore man robbed pharmacy for medication, threatened employee with box cutter

After the woman fled, police say the store's manager complied with the suspect's demands. He received an unknown amount of medication and left the store.

A Bellmore man has been arrested for allegedly robbing a pharmacy and threatening to harm employees.
Detectives say a man entered Keezac Pharmacy on Bedford Avenue in Bellmore Tuesday afternoon, threatened a female employee with a box cutter and demanded prescription pain medication.
The woman was able to escape, although did receive treatment at a hospital for a hand laceration, according to police.
After the woman fled, police say the store's manager complied with the suspect's demands. He received an unknown amount of medication and left the store.
Police say the suspect was found soon after near the intersection of Newbridge Road and Oak Street and was placed under arrest.
The suspect has been identified as Patrick Devine, 33. He faces five counts of first-degree robbery, second-degree robbery, and multiple counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
