Deer Park man strikes brother, another man in alleged DWI crash
Police say a Deer Park man was intoxicated behind the wheel when he struck two people, including his brother, with his pickup truck in Bay Shore early Saturday morning.
They say 33-year-old Carlos Lopez drank at least six beers before getting into his Dodge pickup truck on Union Boulevard and started doing doughnuts in the parking lot.
Police say Lopez then slammed into the side of a building before hitting his own brother and another person with the pickup truck, and then running through a chain-link fence.
Authorities tell News 12 that the driver's brother was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he's currently fighting for his life. The second person struck was treated and released.
Lopez was charged with driving while Intoxicated. He is due back in court Wednesday.
