Long Island's high school basketball teams made their long-awaited return to the court Tuesday with plenty of rules in place and empty stands in some schools.
Players were required to wear masks on the bench and even encouraged to wear them while playing.
Between Long Island's two counties, the rules differ a bit. Suffolk isn't allowing any fans in the stands.
Halftimes also presented some issues. At Center Moriches High School, Wyandanch spent the break on the court, while the home team was in an empty classroom.
Not everything has gone smoothly. Sixteen basketball and wrestling teams in Suffolk are out of action -- 14 in quarantine due to positive COVID-19 tests, and two have dropped out because of low numbers.
