Darryl Mitchell, 20, accused in Suffolk knockout attacks
A North Amityville man has been indicted in seven alleged "knockout game" attacks that took place in Suffolk County this year.
Officials say Darryl Mitchell, 20, was taken into police custody Tuesday.
Investigators say Mitchell is behind a string of the knockout-punch attacks in Suffolk County that occurred in April, November and December.
"There is no motive...other than the thrill of the attacks," said Spota.
Mitchell is accused of randomly punching a 69-year-old man earlier this month.
Mitchell was held on $100,000 cash bond.
His lawyer requested a psychiatric exam for his client before his next court hearing.
