A cystic fibrosis survivor is kicking off his birthday with a 100-mile bike ride.
Jerry Cahill just turned 62. He says his latest goal is to complete a “century ride” in all 50 states.
To kickstart his goal, he's riding from Cohen Children's Medical Center in New Hyde Park to Montauk.
"From there we’re going to hit Ohio, Michigan, Kansas and then we all have it kind of planned out, and as it gets colder we'll go more south and do it down there," he says.
Cahill says his goal is to prove to himself and others within the cystic fibrosis community that anything is possible when you exercise and keep a positive attitude.
