Officials say hundreds of Long Islanders will receive temporary assistance after a popular catering hall suddenly shut down in Massapequa.

Manor East on Jerusalem Avenue was evicted yesterday and clients say no one even bothered to call them.

Lawmakers met with customers today who had parties planned and say they will assist in finding a catering hall to accommodate them.

According to lawmakers, they will oversee the transfer of funds from the defunct catering hall to the new business.

There is no word on the reason behind the closure, but Manor East's lawyer says the catering hall is the victim of mortgage fraud.

Anyone who has been affected is asked to call a hotline at 516-462-9001.
