With the winter break coming to an end, some Long Island students enjoyed their last weekday out of school at Sagamore Hill in Oyster Bay.
The historical site was the home of President Theodore Roosevelt until his death in 1919.
Currently, the interior of the home is under construction, but that didn't stop Cub Scout Pack 286 from Hicksville. They were on-site Friday to learn more about Roosevelt and how to properly handle the American flag.
When asked why it is important to never let the flag touch the ground, scout Loghan Blitz said, "To show respect to the flag."
Most schools are expected reopen on Monday.
