The man found murdered in his East Setauket home Tuesday night had been the victim of harassment, according to court papers.

Horse trainer and riding instructor Ross Reisner, 50, was fatally shot when someone opened fire through the window of his house on Upper Sheep Pasture Road. His partner was wounded in the shooting.

According to court papers, a harassment complaint had been filed late last month against a former tenant of Reisner's. Newsday also reports that a box containing a dead bird had been mailed to Reisner's home this past spring.

A funeral service will be held for Reisner tomorrow.
