County Executive Curran: Coronavirus cases in Nassau climb to at least 17

Nassau County Executive Lauran Curran updated the number of coronavirus cases in the county to at least 17 this morning.

Nassau County Executive Lauran Curran updated the number of coronavirus cases in the county to at least 17 this morning.
She also said the county has 40 residents in mandatory quarantine and 72 in precautionary quarantine. She said she expects these number to rise as more tests come back from the lab. 
 
Curran said the Nassau County Department of Health is on full alert and doing its best to contain the virus. She added that Nassau County’s Office of Emergency Management has begun a “soft activation” to coordinate county resources if necessary.
During the morning briefing, she also addressed houses of worship changes to keep members of the community safe and healthy.
Curran said she will be postponing her State of the County address in light of the coronavirus outbreak.
