Nassau County police say man forced a Roosevelt woman out of her home, stole her money, then raped her Thursday.
Police say the 38-year-old homeowner awoke around 5 a.m. to see a man with a gun over her bed. The man forced her to drive him to a nearby ATM, where she withdrew an undisclosed amount of money.
The victim says she was then forced to drive him to Freeport, where she was raped. They returned to Roosevelt, where the victim says the man escaped on foot. Police say the entire incident occurred over one hour.
Police are looking at surveillance videos from the ATM for images of the man and say they will be made public.
Nassau County police are urging anyone with information to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
