Police say they are looking for three teens who committed a possible hate crime in Patchogue Friday night.
According to investigators, a Hispanic man says he was beaten and robbed by the three white men while walking along Division Street. He claims the men made comments about his ethnicity during the attack.
The Suffolk County hate crimes unit is investigating, but police are stopping short of calling the incident a hate crime.
The alleged attack took place in a parking lot near where Ecuadorian immigrant Marcelo Lucero was killed last year. Lucero?s brother, Joselo, says he hopes Marcelo?s case will become an example to anyone who would commit that kind of crime.
