A Williston Park man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in Hempstead.

Detectives say Akini Gibbs was driving on Jackson Street last night when the incident happened.

According to police, Gibbs then pulled a handgun from under the seat of his BMW and fire several shots. Police are not sure at whom.

Police chased down Gibbs and arrested him.
