Suffolk police made a potentially explosive bust when they arrested two men for illegal fireworks in Bay Shore.
Police say they found $11,000 worth of fireworks inside a car and arrested the driver, 21-year-old Joseph Giorgio and his passenger, 23-year-old Daniel Minier, both of Bay Shore. Police believe the pair bought the explosives in Pennsylvania where fireworks are legal and were planning to sell them on Long Island.
Suffolk police say they got a tip from the New York City Police Department. They set up surveillance on Massachusetts Avenue in front of Giorgio's house and made the bust.
The suspects were charged with possession of explosives without a license and unlawfully dealing with fireworks. Giorgio was also charged with possession of marijuana.
