A Mineola man went on eBay to replace a global positioning system (GPS) stolen from his car, only to find his missing system listed for sale.
Police say the Mineola man contacted police when he discovered the GPS offered online had the same special modification as the one stolen from him. Danial Rangkar, of Great Neck, is now suspected of selling dozens of stolen goods on eBay out of his home. Rangkar, who also works at a second-hand store in Jamaica, Queens, is suspected of more than 90 online transactions of stolen goods over the past couple of years.
Police confiscated more than $50,000 worth of electronics from Rangkar's home, including 31 GPS devices, 12 laptops, several cell phones, iPods, PlayStations and cameras.
