A rookie city cop from Oceanside is out of the hospital and in a rehab facility in New Hyde Park following a brutal hatchet attack in Queens.
Officer Kenneth Healey, 25, was transferred yesterday to the North Shore LIJ rehab center, according to Newsday.
Healey's skull was fractured in what police call a "lone wolf" terrorist attack last week. Police say the man with the hatchet, Zale Thompson, was shot dead by other officers.
NYPD Officer Joseph Meeker, of Oakdale, was also treated and released for a wrist injury.
