Bulldozers rolled into Macombs Dam Park Thursday to begin construction on the new Yankee Stadium after a legal victory.
Crews tore up parts of a racetrack and moved dirt after Wednesday's groundbreaking. Construction workers will also work in Mullaly Park. While the billion-dollar stadium has many supporters, it also faces harsh criticism.
A judge denied a temporary restraining order earlier this week to block construction. Opponents argued against cutting down hundreds of mature oak trees. They also fear dust will pollute the air and construction will tie up traffic.
