Written confessions have police believing two teens accused of plotting to attack Connetquot High School planned violence elsewhere as well.
Michael McDonough, 17, (pictured) and his 15-year-old alleged accomplice, whose identity is being concealed because he was charged as a minor, hand-wrote lengthy confessions to the authorities that included mentions of blowing up the McDonald's in Bohemia where they worked, police said. McDonough wrote he and the 15-year-old suspect "talked about throwing pipe bombs in the lobby; we talked about bombing the two large CO2 tanks downstairs."
In the confession, McDonough wrote of when he and his alleged accomplice went to the McDonald's and threw eggs at it. He wrote the 15-year-old called it a rehearsal for what might happen in the future.
The 15-year-old wrote in his confession that he "had angry thoughts about killing people at Connetquot High School," adding that his words, "about bombs, shooting and killing were just thoughts." He also wrote that McDonough had tried to talk him out of the plot after McDonough's depression subsided.
Both teens included in their writings an attempt to purchase an Uzi. They wrote the 15-year-old left a phone message in response to an online advertisement, but never heard back.
