Store owners, employees and residents are left shocked and worried after a five-alarm fire in University Heights on Wednesday.
The flames ripped through a business strip on University Avenue, destroying three businesses and damaging two others.
Many say they are unsure what they'll do next now that their livelihood is gone.
Salomon Rojas, owner of Sal's Pizza, says everything was burned by the time he arrived to his shop at 6:30 a.m. He says he is not sure how his family will have Christmas this year. "I've lost everything... I don't know what's going to happen now," he says.
People living in the area are feeling the losses too. They say it's a close-knit community, and they visited each of the affected shops regularly.
Fire investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.
