A community held a clap out Wednesday for a retired police officer after his 60-day battle with COVID-19.
Wantagh resident Anthony Greco first entered Mount Sinai Hospital on March 21.
The former NYPD officer was on a ventilator twice during his hospital stay. Greco also had to have surgery to clear out his lung.
He got to go home Wednesday.
"He's a miracle," said Elizabeth Greco, his wife. "By the grace of God and all the staff he's alive today and we are so grateful."
Greco says the first thing he plans to do when he gets home is hug his kids.
