Communities across the country are taking drastic measures to stop the spread of the measles.
On Long Island, health officials in Nassau are again warning families to be prepared as they get ready to celebrate Passover and Easter.
They recommend moving up vaccinations for young children if they are traveling to areas where the measles outbreak is present. That includes parts of New York City and in the Hudson Valley.
In Rockland County, anyone with the measles or anyone who has been exposed to the measles is banned from indoor and outdoor public places. Violators face fines up to $2,000.
A second order bars all unvaccinated students from attending certain schools in the county.
In Michigan, health officials have said that they have traced an outbreak of measles there to a man traveling from New York City.
