A Commack man pleaded guilty to fatally striking a pedestrian while racing another car.
The accident happened on Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station at the intersection of Totten Avenue on Nov. 19, 2022.
Jesus Bonilla admitted to driving nearly twice the 40 mph speed limit, running red lights and crossing into oncoming traffic before he hit James Beck, who died at the scene.
Bonilla faces up to six years in prison.
The case of the other driver who was involved in the race is still pending.
