A Long Island comedy club held a rally Thursday to urge the governor to consider its line of business in reopening plans.
Governor's Comedy Club in Levittown is asking Gov. Andrew Cuomo to allow comedy clubs to reopen. The establishment held a similar rally a few weeks ago.
Supporters say comedy clubs should get the same reopening treatment as restaurants.
"The only difference is you'll have a comic on one end of the restaurant or bar telling jokes, making us laugh. Besides that, there's no difference," one supporter told News 12.
Governor's Comedy Club set up a plexiglass encasement on its stage along with keeping table six feet apart. The club argues those measures are enough to keep guests and performers safe.
