Long Island native and "Karate Kid" star Ralph Macchio says the Islanders and Nassau Coliseum represent a big piece of his childhood.
"For me growing up, it was my team, it was my brother's team, it was my history teacher's team, it's the guy who works at the bank's team," he says.
The volume of the Coliseum crowds is what he'll miss most when the Islanders move to Brooklyn.
"There is nothing like that thunderous energy that comes out of this crowd," he says. "There is something about that experience that only this building has ever given to me and professional sports. It's the last of a dying breed."
