The intensity and passion of the Islanders fan base centers team captain John Tavares' "Coliseum connection."
"The passion of the people as Islanders fans at the Coliseum is some of the most intense, caring, passionate people I've ever met," he says.
His favorite moment playing at the old barn was Game 4 against the Penguins in 2013.
"The place was just going crazy," he says. "Just looking around, you couldn't hear the guy next to you."
Tavares says he will miss the people around the rink and its workers.
"They are all tremendous people and have been so good to all of us players," he says.
