A Cold Spring Harbor man owes his life to a Suffolk police officer and an EMT.Officials say 35-year-old James Leone Jr. was saved after his SUV, boat and trailer somehow plunged into the waters off Billy Joel Park Sunday night near the Cold Spring Harbor library.According to officials, Scott Kitograd, an EMT, saw the sinking SUV and dialed 911. Tim Tonkin, a Suffolk police officer, then swam 60 feet to save Leone.Leone was taken to Huntington Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Kitograd and Tonkin were treated for cuts and Tonkin was also treated for a tooth that broke during the rescue.
