A town hall meeting was held in Jericho Thursday night to discuss a school zone speed camera that residents say should be removed.

The meeting was held by the Cantiague Rock Road Speed Zone Fairness Coalition at the Cantiague Elementary School auditorium. Many in attendance had already received speeding tickets and are hoping officials will have them waived. The group also says there are no signs that say a camera has been installed.

Gary Strauss, from the Coalition, claims the area is safe enough because there are no crosswalks, the school is setback away from the road and all the students are bused.

The coalition and residents say they will do whatever it takes to get rid of that speed zone camera.
